Frequently Asked Questions
What subjects and levels do you offer tutoring for?
We offer a comprehensive range of tutoring services with a specific focus on GCSE, A Level
and the International Baccalaureate (IB). Our subject coverage spans mathematics, sciences,
English, humanities and modern foreign languages. We also provide support with university
applications including personal statements and educational consultancy.
Do you offer both online and in-person tutoring options?
Currently, we exclusively offer online lessons. This allows us to connect students with the
most qualified tutors regardless of location. Lessons are delivered via platforms such as
Google Meet or Zoom ensuring a seamless and personalised learning experience from the
comfort of your home.
How do your online tutoring sessions work?
Our lessons are conducted on secure and user-friendly platforms like Google Meet or Zoom.
These platforms support video calls, screen sharing, chat and collaborative whiteboards
allowing for interactive and effective learning.
How are your tutors selected?
Our tutors are experienced subject specialists often current or former school teachers with
leadership roles such as Head of Department. Each tutor goes through a rigorous selection
process and is chosen not only for their academic expertise but also for their ability to
communicate effectively and support students of all levels.
Do you offer one-to-one tuition?
Yes, we specialise in one-to-one tuition. Each session is fully personalised to match the
student’s goals, pace and learning style ensuring focused support and measurable progress.
What is the duration of each tutoring session?
Standard sessions are 60 minutes long. However, we can tailor session lengths to suit your
needs including extended sessions where appropriate.
Can I receive help with homework and exam preparation?
Absolutely. Our tutors provide support with homework, projects, revision and exam
preparation. They offer explanations, work through challenging problems and help develop
strategies for exam success.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule a session?
We understand that schedules can change. You may cancel or reschedule a session by
notifying your tutor at least 24 hours in advance. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full
fee for the lesson will still apply.
How do I monitor my child's progress?
We provide regular progress updates and reports. You are also welcome to speak directly
with your child’s tutor to discuss their development, areas for improvement and academic
goals
What technology do I need for online tutoring?
You’ll need a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection, a webcam, microphone
and access to Google Meet or Zoom.
Are online lessons as effective as in-person lessons?
Yes. Online lessons have proven to be highly effective. Our tutors are experienced in
delivering interactive and engaging sessions that match or even surpass the quality of inperson teaching. Online learning offers greater flexibility and eliminates the need for travel. It
also allows us to connect exceptional tutors from around the world with our students no
matter where they are based.
How does payment and invoicing work?
We normally take payments by bank transfer but we also accept card payments upon
request. Invoices are issued on a weekly basis. For any questions about payment or billing
feel free to contact us.
Do you offer free advice before booking lessons?
Yes. We offer a complimentary strategy session to discuss your academic background,
goals and learning style. We also provide a free assessment to identify key areas for support.
Based on this we create a tailored learning plan to help you achieve your academic
